Last weekend, we attended the first year birthday party of Vogue Mama’s daughter Armia in Andalusia. Vogue Mama and I attended the same boarding school so our circle of friends is pretty much the same people. So while making my rounds saying hellos and all, a good friend of mine grabbed me by my arms and said,
“Babe what happened to you??” whilst looking at me up and down and up and down.
Hokey, so I put on a couple of pounds (ok ok I put on a lot of pounds) that does not mean I’m not hot and sexay as I used to be(?)
“Babe dah kawin does not mean that you can let yourself go”
…and that kinda startled me a lil bit. I don’t think I have let myself go, though I do opt for a more relax and comfy clothes these days. I mean I have scaled down from…
This…
to this...
<
And from this...
to this...
Does that mean I have lost my mojo jojo??
But then again, these days comfort comes first then anything else. Yes I may not be walking around in dresses and heels so much no more but I just find flat shoes and baju kurung are just more comfy.
I once saw a show on Oprah Winfrey on mothers/wives who let themselves go once they got married and have kids. I even heard something about this on Mix.fm the other day.
Is it true that we women let ourselfves go after we got married and have kids?
