Perak Syariah High Court Judge Hassan Basri Markum is claiming trial to fice counts of corruption involving RM5,200. He posted bail for M20,000 for the charges and surrendered his international passport to court.
He is accused of :-
1. Soliciting brice of RM3,000.00 from Mohamad Imran Abdullah to release bail money to Yoong Hor Kit over several criminal cases;
2. Receiving the bribe in a car at Taman DR Senivasagam at 3:25 p.m. on Setp 6;
3. Soliciting bribe of RM1,000.00 to help Mohamad Asri A. Bakar marry Nor Farihan Hassan without going through proper procedures. The offence was also allegedly committed atthe same restaurant in Tambun at 8:30 p.m. on August 15;
4. Agreeing to receive the bribe in a car at the Hillcity Hotel at 6p.m. on August 17; and
5. Agreeing to receive another bribe of RM1,100.00 from Mohamad Imran to produce a marriage certificate allowing another couple, Mohd Jafri Afandi Ahmad and Nur Liza Musa to marry without going through proper procedures.
Sessions Court judge Tan Hooi Leng set March 31 and August 1 next year for hearing
